What will AI voice actually cost you?

Every platform quotes a per-minute rate. Almost none quote the whole bill. Enter your minutes to see the model, telephony, and add-on charges added back in — each figure sourced.

Your usage

Reading this table

  • Charges they don't publish makes a row a floor, not a total — flagged rather than counted as zero.
  • Rivals' public rates as of July 2026, also itemised on our comparison. This market reprices often — confirm before deciding.
  • At this volume, pay-as-you-go can win on paper — before the assembly work, the second vendor, and a bill that moves monthly.

What the headline rate leaves out

The language model

Billed by tokens. The widest line item here — a frontier model can cost more than the platform fee.

Speech-to-text + text-to-speech

Two meters running the whole call. Premium voices cost more.

Telephony

Someone has to carry the call. On BYO-carrier platforms, a second vendor and a second invoice.

Phone numbers

A few dollars a month each, and you need one before call zero.

Concurrency

Capacity for simultaneous calls — per line, or burst pricing past your cap.

Questions

Why isn't the headline rate the real rate?

On most platforms the headline covers orchestration only. The model, speech-to-text, text-to-speech, and telephony are separate line items billed by whoever provides them. A $0.05/min platform fee is real — it just isn't the invoice.

What is a concurrency line?

How many calls can run at once — two callers at 9am need two lines. Platforms bundle a few and charge for more, since each reserves capacity. Vapi publishes $10/line per month; others bill for it without publishing a rate.

Which input changes the answer most?

Minutes, then model choice. Usage-based cost tracks minutes almost exactly, while a flat plan flattens out after its included block.

Why does a rival sometimes look cheaper?

Because at low volume it sometimes is. What you trade for it is assembly work, several vendors, and a bill that moves every month. We'd rather show you the crossover than hide it.

How current are these numbers?

Verified against public pricing pages in July 2026 and cited row by row. This market reprices quarterly, so confirm with the provider. Our own figures come from the live plan configuration, so they're always current.

Worth it at all?

The other half of the decision is what your missed calls are worth.
