The math, in one line

missed calls/day × business days/year × share who don't call back × close rate × average customer value

Drag the slider to 0% and then 100% for the floor and ceiling. If the floor still beats the plan cost, the assumption doesn't change your decision. Why we won't quote you a borrowed statistic.

Questions

Where do the default numbers come from?

The worked example in our post on missed-call cost. They're placeholders to show the shape of the math, not industry statistics — replace them with your own.

Which input matters most?

The share who don't call back. Urgent trades sit high, because the caller needs the problem solved now; scheduled services sit lower. It's the one number nobody can look up.

How do I find my real missed-call count?

Your carrier's call log. Count the calls that rang out, went to voicemail, or arrived after hours over one normal week, then divide by the days. A week of real data beats a guess.

Is the plan cost an estimate too?

No, that side is exact. The plan and overage rate come from our published pricing, and the tool picks whichever plan is cheaper for your volume. Only the revenue side rests on assumptions.

What if I already answer most calls?

Then the figure will be small — which is the useful answer. It means answering isn't your bottleneck.

Headline per-minute rates rarely survive contact with an invoice.
